1. What Pop Star Zara Larsson Can Teach Us About Branding

Zara Larsson over a background of colorful dolphins and rainbows.

Screenshot of Claude's website showing their new watermark policy.

This week, Claude announced that it would begin watermarking content run through its models in response to new EU laws requiring transparency for AI-generated content. Because the change stemmed from regulation, it’s a move to watch because it’s likely other LMMs will follow suit.

How does it work? You can read the full support page here, but here’s how Claude says it will affect text:

“When a supported Claude model generates text, it weaves an imperceptible watermark directly into the text itself. You won’t see it, and it doesn’t change the meaning, quality, or readability of Claude’s response. Because the watermark is part of the text, it will travel with the text when it’s copy and pasted elsewhere, and may persist through some editing.”
